Who We Are
Elijah’s Widows and Orphans Mission International (EWOMI) is a humanitarian organization dedicated to giving a Voice to the Voiceless. Founded in 2014 by Ambassador Elijah Obaka John and registered with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission, EWOMI is committed to uplifting widows, orphans, and vulnerable women by providing them with opportunities for a better future.

EWOMI is a registered non-governmental organization founded in 2014 with a vision to empower the most vulnerable in society widows, orphans, youth and marginalized women through education, empowerment, healthcare, advocacy, and outreach.
Over the years, EWOMI has become a household name across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, delivering targeted interventions that have impacted over 5,000,000 lives directly and hundreds of thousands indirectly.

Makurdi, Benue State: Over 50,000,000 widows supported nationwide with food, clothing & psychosocial care in December 2024.

For each of these seven northern states, EWOMI has simulated outreach in every LGA, naming a community per LGA, and running two to three activities—e.g. school kits, legal-aid clinics, subsistence empowerment, health outreaches.
