EWOMI Empowers Widows in Ankpa, Kogi State with Gifts and Agricultural Training

Ankpa, Kogi State – December 2019

Elijah’s Widows and Orphans Mission (EWOMI) brought hope and empowerment to widows in Ankpa, Kogi State, during its Widows Support Program in December 2019. The event, which aimed at providing economic relief and knowledge to widows, saw the distribution of various essential items and an insightful lecture on the power of agriculture in society.

Hundreds of widows gathered at the venue, where they received food supplies, clothing, and other household necessities. The support was part of EWOMI’s ongoing commitment to uplifting widows and orphans, ensuring they have the resources and skills to build sustainable livelihoods.

A key highlight of the event was a lecture on agriculture, emphasizing its role in economic independence and food security. The session encouraged widows to explore farming as a means of self-sustenance, with experts sharing insights on modern agricultural techniques, small-scale farming, and agribusiness opportunities.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Elijah Obaka John, the founder of EWOMI, reaffirmed the organization’s mission to empower widows and the less privileged. He urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the agricultural knowledge shared, as farming remains a viable path to financial stability.

Many of the widows expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the items received would greatly ease their burden, while the lecture inspired them to consider agriculture as a means of livelihood.

EWOMI continues to impact lives across Nigeria, reaching thousands of widows, orphans, and underprivileged individuals through its skills acquisition programs, empowerment initiatives, and community outreach efforts. The organization remains dedicated to its mission of being a voice to the voiceless and bringing lasting change to communities in need.
